Este efecto ya se comprob\u00f3 en ensayos de campo.<\/p>\n<p>Este avance podr\u00eda reducir la necesidad de tratamientos qu\u00edmicos. Tambi\u00e9n mejorar\u00eda la seguridad alimentaria en climas m\u00e1s secos y de condiciones variables<\/p>\n<p>El gen, llamado Parakletos (que significa &#8220;auxiliar&#8221;), est\u00e1 vinculado al sistema inmunol\u00f3gico y reactivo al estr\u00e9s de la planta.<\/p>\n<p>Interact\u00faa con otras prote\u00ednas sin realizar una funci\u00f3n adicional. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41467-024-49584-4\">El descubrimiento fue publicado recientemente en la prestigiosa revista Nature Communications.<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>CRISPR<\/h3>\n<p>Durante a\u00f1os, los investigadores de la SLU han estudiado c\u00f3mo hacer que las plantas de papa sean m\u00e1s resistentes al tiz\u00f3n tard\u00edo y otras enfermedades.<\/p>\n<p>La t\u00e9cnica utiliza herramientas de edici\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica, como CRISPR, para eliminar los genes de susceptibilidad (genes S) que hacen vulnerables a las plantas.<\/p>\n<p>El equipo identific\u00f3 un nuevo gen S que regula la sensibilidad de la planta a amenazas como hongos, bacterias, sal y sequ\u00eda. Eliminar este gen fortalece las defensas de la planta y reduce la necesidad de tratamientos qu\u00edmicos.<\/p>\n<p>Este m\u00e9todo tambi\u00e9n podr\u00eda preparar los cultivos para condiciones clim\u00e1ticas m\u00e1s desafiantes en el futuro.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abSabemos que esto funciona en las papas y el tabaco, pero tenemos la esperanza de que tambi\u00e9n se pueda aplicar a otros cultivos\u00bb, dice Erik Andreasson, profesor y director de la unidad de biolog\u00eda de la resistencia de la SLU. Tambi\u00e9n es el autor principal del art\u00edculo reciente en Nature Communications. En comparaci\u00f3n con el resto de la Uni\u00f3n Europea, Suecia est\u00e1 a la vanguardia en la investigaci\u00f3n de nuevas t\u00e9cnicas gen\u00f3micas, como la edici\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica, para la protecci\u00f3n de las plantas.<\/p>\n<p>Los ensayos de campo no han mostrado consecuencias negativas por la eliminaci\u00f3n de genes, seg\u00fan Andreasson. En este sentido, asegura que es poco probable que surjan problemas a largo plazo.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, dado que los ensayos solo se han realizado en un lugar y con una variedad de papa, se necesitan m\u00e1s investigaciones para confirmar su eficacia.<\/p>\n<p>El siguiente paso es ampliar el proyecto &#8220;Papa resistente&#8221;, que cuenta con la participaci\u00f3n de varias organizaciones
